How to get to La Serena?
La Serena is located 472 km. north of Santiago, 12 km. north of Coquimbo, 254 km. Los Vilos and 88 km. Ovalle. You can access the city by land and by air.
There are daily flights from Santiago, Iquique, Antofagasta and Copiapo, those arriving at the international airport terminal in La Serena La Florida, located 6 kilometers from the city.
If you are traveling from Santiago, you have to access the Panamerican highway, known as Route 5 north. It is completely paved two-way road. From Santiago are about 472 kilometers (about five hours). If traveling from the north should take the Panamerican Highway southbound to La Serena.
