The city of Serena in the Coquimbo region, is located 472 kilometers north of Santiago, capital of Chile, and 12 kilometers from the city of Coquimbo.
It is the second oldest city in Chile, founded in 1544 to facilitate land communication with Peru, vital to supply the new Kingdom of Chile. It was destroyed by the natives and rebuilt in 1549 by Francisco de Aguirre. He is currently regional capital.
La Serena, since 1985, enjoys a boom due to the tourist influx, the concentration of large astronomical observatories in the area, intense university life, the fruit exportation, the pisco production and mining. This time it is the opening of the Avenida del Mar, a sector where our hotels are located, with the best beaches in the area, ideal for fishing for sole.
Today La Serena and hotel spas have a similar capacity to gather together to Valparaiso, Vina del Mar, Reñaca and Con-Con. A few kilometers from our hotel is the Casino of Coquimbo.
